dissonant world
In dissociation, the consciousness separates itself from certain thoughts, memories and feelings.
This creates the feeling of being in a parallel world in which normal human abilities and physically
measurable time no longer play a role. The person moves in a subjective intermediate world in
which reality appears distorted and strange.
The person is in a corridor that is perceived as an intermediate world. A person who dissociates
often has the feeling of being cut off from reality and trapped in an inner world. In this state, the
person is not fully aware of their surroundings and themselves, which leads to a feeling of
disorientation and alienation.
